About Bell's

We are a small, family-owned and operated department store. We specialize in work and casual clothing and footwear for both men and women. We have been in business since 1922 and we are Alamance County's oldest soft goods retailer.

Bell's Team

Mary Griffin

Mary is our bookkeeper so you may not get to see her too often on the sales floor. She is usually in the back doing all the paperwork that I hate to do. Mary retired from UNCG and has a daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren.

Carolyn Hill

Carolyn is one of our massage therapists. She is the one you will often see doing chair massage. Carolyn has a broad background in business and the corporate world, but decided to pursue a career in the healing arts. She is a graduate of Kneaded Energy School of Massage.

Jerri Walls

Jerri is our resident artist. She is responsible for our chalkboard drawings, our “bow-art” bulletin board, and our beautifully painted windows. She is also known as the “alligator lady,” due to her trip to visit “The Swamp People” in Louisiana. Jerri came to us from a career in the sign making and installation business. She has a daughter and son who are twins.

Vera Madden

Vera has the longest career at Bell’s. She has been with us for over twenty five years. She worked for the school system for many years and has been assisting her husband in his taxidermy business since she retired. She has long been an expert at hunting and fishing. She has been married to her husband, Albert, for over fifty years and they have a daughter, son and two granddaughters.

Amber Lewis

Amber started at Bell’s as a gift wrapper as well. Now you will see her working the sales floor, mainly on Saturdays, holidays and in the summer, since she also works for the school system. Amber is also a licensed massage therapist, and graduated from Kneaded Energy School of Massage with me. She is a newlywed, having married Edward Lewis in 2012.

Robbie Savage

Robbie is the latest to join our team. He is a brave man to have joined this all female crew. Robbie has work experience in the auto industry as well as in electrical contracting. He also has a great deal of experience in web site design and has his own design business Tek Savage.

Most of our vendors offer a 1 YEAR LIMITED MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY. This warranty generally covers any defect that is the responsibility of the manufacturer. It does NOT cover USE OR ABUSE, nor does it guarantee a product to last one year. The amount a product is used will determine its lifetime. Management makes the FINAL DECISION regarding all warranty issues.
